MY STORY
The photo at left is of my dog Charlie, probably taken with my phone, just before his passing. I'll admit, its a not a pretty picture and I would NEVER present an image of this poor quality to a client.
I believe we are allowed that ONE dog which seems more special that any others we may have in our lives. That ONE dog who can read you mind, who can sense your moods, who knows "the rules", and wants nothing more than to please you and be WITH you.
We had been battling Charlie's health problems for months and he continued to spiral down.
Memorial Day weekend 2022.
My wife was visiting our family in Ohio. I had told her in advance that if Charlie did not eat for 2 days, I would have to do what I was dreading. At the vet, feeling my best-dog-ever go limp in my arms as the medications took effect was something I will never forget. My "Chaliedog" was gone and my life changed. A few days later we picked up his ashes in a wooden box. That and some "phone pictures" were all we had left of him, and being a long term photographer, I felt sad to have not taken the time to capture some quality pictures of him.
Our fur-buddies have such short lives and I have made it my passion to try to capture their (AND their humans') essences in photographs that will endure.
Services
We provide profession photography sessions at select natural, outdoor locations on this beautiful Hilton Head Island.
We also can schedule Special Events such as Dog Shows, Agility Trials, and mini sessions for clubs or organizations

I am Dr J Bucky Schmelzer a full time resident of Hilton Head Island.
I have been an avid photographer since the days of my Minolta 35mm film camera and have experienced the evolution of photography through today's amazing mirrorless digital camera.
I have taken multiple master classes on composition/lighting and post processing with Photoshop/Lightroom.
WHAT WE DO
Prior to scheduling your session, we will have a phone or in-person consult. This will help us determine the best location to best capture your dog's personality. We will then meet at the time/place for the session
I will then select the most favorable images out of the hundreds of exposures and submit them to you within a couple days. You then can select the images of your choice for final editing.
